On a lovely warm summer evening with cloudless skies, we met at Pam's lovely outdoor labyrinth to drum together. Laughter, smiles and a good time were had by all.

A fun-loving group of drummers gathered for our May drum circle at the Olympic UU Fellowship hall. We had as many as 8 of us at the mother drum at once, circling, drumming, laughing & enjoying community.
Next month we move to Pam's labyrinth for summertime outdoor drumming - join us to drum & walk the labyrinth! The 16 of us who joined in drumming up a great Thanksgiving really raised some rhythm (& probably roused the neighborhood around OUUF). A fun time for us all. Gratitude to those who came and participated, with special thanks to Jason & Rick for leading us in djembe & bongo rhythms.
Our first outdoor drum circle of 2016 held at Pam's labyrinth was a delight. The warm, sunny evening and congenial group led to a relaxed enjoyable occasion for drumming together, walking the labyrinth and meeting new participants.
Here are some photos graciously provided by Martin Shaw - they may earn him the designation of "Official Peninsula Drum Circle photographer"! Today 15 of us gathered at Pam's labyrinth on Deer Ridge Lane near Sequim to celebrate World Labyrinth Day. Events like this were held at labyrinths around the globe at 1 PM local time.
After calling in the directions and 3 poems/readings relevant to the day, we walked the labyrinth silently, accompanied by the soothing tones of Pat & Charles Mawson's crystal bowls and the soft beating of drums. As the bowls sang out, they were joined by an increasing number of wild songbirds in the surrounding trees - a truly magical event. Many thanks to Pam Bedford for sharing her sacred labyrinth with us, to Margot Hewitt for providing the calling in of the directions, and for all who joined in this special event. Check out our newest junior drummer in action, showing the big folks how it's done! You can view the video on https://www.facebook.com/Peninsula-Community-Drum-Circle-123210297786281/ Sixteen of us got together at the OUUF fellowship hall tonight to raise the rafters with drumming. Great fun, and the building's still standing! Here's a few photos to start the new year.
Come on over and join the fun on Feb 23rd at our next drum circle! Beginning with our Tuesday, Oct. 27 drum circle, the community drum circle will be meeting at the Olympic Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship hall, 73 Howe Rd. off N. Barr Rd. between Pt. Angeles and Sequim. Our summer (June, July, August) drum circles will continue to be held at the outdoor labyrinth on Deer Ridge Lane near Sequim.
Due to construction just in front of the Longhouse at Peninsula College, events are no longer allowed there after 4 PM, for safety reasons. Hence, the new location. The fellowship hall has great acoustics and plenty of room for our circle, so come join us at our new location. |
