Long time no blog posts, but we ARE having regular monthly drum circles, ever since May 2021. These are on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 6:00-7:30 PM, unless noted otherwise. Gatherings are outside at Pam's labyrinth, 186 Deer Ridge Lane, off Hooker Rd, from May through September, then move indoors to the Olympic Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship hall, 1033 N. Barr Rd, half-way between Sequim & Port Angeles from October through April. Because the Autumnal Equinox in only 2 days after our drum circle date of September 20, we will be drumming AND celebrating the Equinox at this month's gathering. This means more people joining in, circle opening with a special calling in of the directions, then a few readings/poems/or maybe even a song to celebrate, followed by drumming in circle and/or walking the labyrinth. All ages and ability levels are welcome, even if you are a total newbie to drumming. If you have a drum, other percussion or a special instrument (digeridoo, wooden flute, etc.) to play, please bring it. If you have none, we will have plenty of drums, tambourines, rattles, bells, claves and other percussion to share. Feel free to bring friends, family, or just yourself. Bring a folding chair or blanket to sit on, and water to drink, if you like. Please be aware that there is no toilet at the labyrinth, just a trail into the woods. Carpooling is a good idea, if possible, as parking is limited. |
