As summer draws to a close, we reflect on the 3 delight-filled drum circles at Pam Bedford's labyrinth west of Sequim. After many years drumming indoors at the longhouse, it has been a treat to be outdoors in the evening sunlight, walking the labyrinth and drumming together in circle.
Given the increasing drought this summer, we all drummed for rain in the coming days, as we sat in chairs or on the dry grassy meadow. The addition of our new mother drum in July gave everyone a chance to do some group rhythm, with up to 6 of us inviting the drum's song together.
Next month, we return to the Peninsula College Longhouse for the months of September - May, with gratitude to the college for allowing us use of this very special native American building. Join us there for drumming and appreciate the acoustics and art work of the longhouse.
